Election News

Two Grogan’s Mill residents , Ann Snyder and Dr. Shelley Sekula-Gibbs, were reelected to The Woodlands Township Board of Directors, along with Bob Milner.

Both Propositions A and B, which would have authorized The Woodlands Township to incorporate and become a city, failed to pass with approximately 68% of voters opposing the propositions.

The proposed consolidation of MUD 1 and MUD 6 failed by less than 1% in MUD 6 and therefore negates the consolidation process. This is a reminder that your vote counts, especially in a close determination like this one.

All results from the recent Montgomery County election can be found at: Results (mctx.org).

GMVA News

Mr. Aaron Hoffstadter and Ms. Kelly Lewis have taken over the lead roles in The Woodlands Farmer’s Market. Pat Goodpastor, who founded the market in 2008 with current GMVA President Bruce Cunningham and former resident Dana Denton, remains on the committee and is responsible for its finances.

Holiday Shopping and Support Local

The last several markets have been bigger than ever with over 60 vendors! You'll be sure to find what you need for the holidays.

You can even schedule your holiday photos at the market! Rustic Earth Photography is at the market most Saturdays and has photo packages available for reasonable prices. Contact her today to schedule your photo session.

Halloween Fun at the Market

We had some Halloween fun at The Woodlands Farmer's Market on October 30th.  A local skeleton gave out candy to the younger customers at the market.  The vendors participated in a Halloween costume contest and our customers voted on the best costume.  The competition was fierce as there were monetary prizes on the line.  In the end these were our winners:

1st place- Karstiches
2nd place- Mandi’s Quackers
3rd place- Resinista Reeves

The Woodlands Farmer's Market

The Woodlands Farmer's Market is the perfect place to pick up fresh produce, fresh foods, and a unique gift for a special person in your life. Stop by and check out the many new vendors that have joined the market. We welcome your four-legged friends too!

The 7 Stickers Sweepstakes is happening all month long! Our October winner was Alicia and Sara, market committee member, presented the $50 gift certificate to her at our last market.

YOU could be our November winner! Stop by the information booth to find out how to enter this very easy sweepstakes and you could win $50 in market cash to spend at the market.

Vendors are listed every Friday in the weekly TWFM newsletter so you can plan your Saturday shopping. If you are not a subscriber, you can sign up here.

And don't forget to bring your batteries for recycling!

Sewer Rate Calculated During Winter Months

Your winter months' water usage totals (December, January and February) are averaged to determine your sewer rate on your water bill for the following twelve months. If you’re planning to power wash a driveway/deck or you have a similar project which will use a large amount of water, it will save you some money to do it in the early Fall months, rather than waiting until the winter averaging months (December, January and February).

Backyard Compost Class

Learn how easy it can be to turn kitchen waste, yard trimmings and leaves into rich, hand-made compost. This informal and interactive class is packed with information and great fun. A variety of composting tools will be available for hands-on learning.
