May Yard of the Month winners are Joe & Dianne McCarthy, who are the original owners of their home on Cassowary. They have lived in their home for 38 years and it is filled with beautiful flowers. One side of their front yard is lined with tons of red penta and variegated grass bushes. Fox spire ferns dot the yard. Layers of red rock set off the red pentas. A cute metal lantern adds to the garden.
In the front, yellow and red day lilies, red pentas, pink vincas and white with red-veined caladiums fill the yard with color. White and green sharp grass bushes in several areas, bring out the grey-green of the dusty miller and the large pittosporum bush that frames the other side of the house.
