Help Send Your Kid or a Neighbor's Kid to College

This Thursday, October 18, is Community Giving Day at Whole Foods in Hughes Landing. Whole Foods will give five percent of their profits for the day from their store in Hughes Landing to the Grogan's Mill Village Association.  We will in turn use that money for scholarships and donations to our local schools. 

Whole Foods is located at 1925 Hughes Landing Blvd., Suite 100, The Woodlands, TX 77380 and is open from 7am to 10pm.

If you have a chance, shop at Whole Foods this Thursday, October 18. Stop by and say hello to the GMVA representatives who will be at the store.  Look for our banner.

The GMVA Will Appoint a New Board Member at the November Meeting.  Interested?

The GMVA will appoint someone to the Board at its meeting on November 19th to fill an unexpired term ending in 2020. If you are interested, come to the meeting and explain why you would like to be on the board and your qualifications.  You will enjoy it.  There will also be an election in February at which there will be at least two vacancies.

Starting in November we will move our meeting time to 6:00PM.  Our meetings always take place at The Woodlands Township building at 2801 Technology forest Blvd, in the meeting room.

Halloween at The Woodlands Farmer's Market

On Saturday, October 27, The Woodlands Farmer's Market will have a costume contest for vendors.  Vendors will dress in costume and customers will be asked to vote for their favorite.  Winning vendors will get prizes of $150, $100 and $50.  Randall’s will be having Halloween festivities in their store at the same time, so join us at the Farmer's Market, then walk to Randall’s for more fun.  Check out our Facebook page for more details as the contest gets closer.

Water-Wise Village Challenge

The Woodlands Township Environmental Services Department invites residents and village associations of The Woodlands to participate in the Water-Wise Village Challenge for 2018-2019. To promote an easy way to conserve water, residents are encouraged to pledge to turn off your sprinkler system between October 15, 2018 and April 15, 2019. 

When households take the challenge and pledge, they earn contest points for their village. The challenge runs from October 15, 2018 to April 15, 2019. Pledges may be submitted online at:

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Saturday, October 27, 2018 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Drug Enforcement Administration Agents and a Montgomery County Sheriffs Office Deputy will collect unwanted prescription medications for safe disposal at no charge.

• Sharps, needles or illegal substances will not be accepted
• Drop-off is only during the designated time

Help GMVA Win the 3R Bazaar Village Challenge

This year's Village Challenge is Battery Recycling.  We are collecting batteries at the Farmer's Market through November 10th.  Look for the ORANGE BIN.  All household sizes are acceptable; NO LITHIUM or SILVER OXIDE.  $2200 will be divided amongst the villages based on the percentage of weight of batteries collected.  Last year, GMVA won the challenge by collecting the most DVDs and CDs.  Help us win again!!  The funds go to philanthropy in our village.
